Question 2

Film
For our short film our main goal was to make people feel tense while watching it. We wanted to create an illusion of horror. The knocking sound that is repetitive throughout the whole of it is another main focus of the film and we wanted the audience to question what it is, to try and guess. However beside the horror our genre being horror comedy we decided to have the knocking as something comedic therefore the knocking is in fact a pizza delivery man. At the very end however the film includes knocking again this allowing our viewers to question what it is now, whether it be the pizza man knocking next door or something else. Giving them an option to put their own interpretation onto it.
Poster
For our poster we mainly wanted to cause suspense and make people question what it is that is unknown. The colouring on our poster the yellow stained marks indicates impurity and the black background indicates the unseen, you are unaware you are ironically ‘unknown’ of your surroundings. A close up shot of the girl looking worried in her facial expression shows fear and gives that notice that whatever she is hearing or seeing is not something pleasant.
The title we wanted to be something Bold with a colour you would class as danger. The letters underneath in my opinion show some kind of echo as though she is listening the sounds with her face glaring past them. With the star ratings we thought it would be a good idea to include them to help try and sell our film make it look more professional but get more people interested knowing it has being rated highly. As well as why we added the credits to again make it look more professional, and making it look more appealing.
Radio Trailer
The radio trailer links in well with the film as we also wanted this to hold suspense and question. This links with our film as we took the sound effects used throughout in our radio trailer and added them together. We recorded it with a zoom recorder which records in high

definition so it allows our trailer to sound professional. With a small amount of dialogue also taken from the film.
The music for out trailer is the same music we feature in the film, this helped to create suspense so we wanted to add it in our trailer as well. For voice over I took a small script and read it in a clear voice we didn’t want anything else just a simple tone to help not distract from the music and sounds behind.
Real poster productions
The poster from women in black has the main focus on the main character with the women in black lingering at the back showing how she’s watching him. Whereas he is oblivious that she is behind him. The colouring of the poster is misty blue showing a fairy-tale type of storyline and ghostly presence. It’s very common for the main character to be the main part of the poster and for slight clues in it as well such as the women and the house further back showing something will more than likely take part in the house.
